This is my first ever GTK theme (plus Emerald theme to match).
To use, extract the "sandy" folder to either your ~/.themes/ (local) or /usr/share/themes/ (global) folder, and select using your preferred theme chooser.
To use the Emerald theme, extract sandy.emerald to a location of your choice, then use Emerald Theme Manager to import it from that location.
The GTK theme is based on the Murrine engine; please ensure that you have it installed before posting a bug.
And on that note, please point out any bugs you find, even if they're just one pixel off...I am always looking for ways to improve, and I only use a small fraction of the applications available, so I need all the help I can get in testing
Sorry but its me again! Found what the trouble is,its nothing to do with your theme or the file being corrupted, its the accursed gnome settings daemon. Changed to gtk-chtheme which does see it,I can switch to it for a few seconds before the gnome settings daemon decides "there is no path set to the theme engine Rezlooks" and removes it? I can only assume the gnome settings daemon is suffering from dementia and has very bad eyesight as there is no mention of Rezlooks in the theme as you know? Its also stopping me using most of the other themes I have installed as well that I can also see for a few seconds before it decides they are not suitable for some reason known only to its own warped mind? The strange thing is if I log in to Gnome the themes work perfectly, perhaps Gnome and Openbox have had a row or something,I really dont know? The time has come to say goodbye to Debian anyway as I have had enough of it.

Hm...I shall look into it (both issues!). I've been rebuilding my system and I've actually lost the original file But I'll try downloading this one myself to see if it works...If not, I guess I'll have to rewrite it!
Oh sorry,I should have explained better, there is nothing wrong with the theme,my system is broken thats all! I'm running a bit of an experiment with Debian using the stable kernel with software and libraries from unstable and testing, think I pushed things a bit too far and now I can not install any new themes as I seem to have broken the gnome settings daemon? Gnome is not quite as resilient as it used to be,this is the third time I have broken major parts of it with my experiments. Managed to break the whole of nautilus last time, that did stop it annoying me in Openbox though! Its time for a clean install of something else, the few themes I have left are doing strange things, showing the wrong colours and sort of half a scroll bar on the edge of the window and things like that. Plus the system is doing a few other odd things too. I was getting bored with Debian anyway, stable is a bit too stable for my liking, and the Radeon driver in Sid and Squeeze will not work with my card, thats why I was trying to mix the three in the hope of having a reasonably stable system with more up to date software than stable has, some things in stable are nearly three years out of date with the same bugs they had then, its like going back in time. This time I will either go back to FreeBSD,or try Gentoo or Arch maybe, not sure yet? I really am sorry for being a nuisance.

Don't worry, it's no nuisance...I just downloaded this theme myself, and you're right, DevArt has somehow lost the .tar bit of the file. You have to extract the .gz, which gives you a file with no extension, then extract that file with Archive Manager and it will give you the theme directory and sandy.emerald. Hope this helps!
Thanks very much! This site is notorious for doing that, had some before I had to try adding every extension known before finding what they were compressed as,turned out they were 7zip and rar I believe? Hopefully by the end of the week I shall have a new system installed and be able to use it,well perhaps the end of the week is being a little too optimistic as I'm going to do a stage 3 install of Gentoo,by the time that has finished compiling it could be the new year?

Could you tell me if there is a specific Murrine engine this needs please? I have Murrine 0.90.3-2 from Debian Unstable, installed this to /usr/share/themes but its as though it does not exist,it does not appear in switch2,even tried putting it in gconf myself with both a lower and upper case "s" but nothing happens? I use Openbox, not that should not make a difference, but I wonder if dA have corrupted the file as there was another tar with no extension inside the downloaded tar,had to rename it to be able to open it? This is one of the nicest themes I have seen for a long time, the happy and excited smile on my face turned to tears when I found I could not use it!
